As a former classroom teacher who now creates hands-on learning resources for educators, I still have a deep love for creative play and open-ended learning. My homeschool cart is full of the same kinds of materials I used to keep in my classroom STEM bins, including building tools, games, and activities that get kids thinking, tinkering, and imagining.
When I discovered Clixo, a flexible magnetic building toy that blends play with STEAM learning, I couldn’t wait to test it out with my own kids.

The first day I pulled out Clixo, I honestly thought it would keep my kids busy for 15 to 20 minutes while I got some work done. I was wrong.
Within minutes, they were completely immersed, building, bending, snapping, and twisting the colorful pieces in to all kinds of wild creations. It wasn’t just my older kids who were hooked, my toddler joined in too. Even my husband got down on the floor to build with them.
Before I knew it, there were helicopters, an octopus, and even a full rescue storyline unfolding across the living room. Apparently, the Clixo helicopter had to save a baby, also made from Clixo pieces of course.

That’s when I realized what makes Clixo special. There’s no single right way to play, and the flexible, magnetic design means kids can twist and shape their ideas however they want….no table or flat surface required.

I have used every kind of building set, including blocks, bricks,Magna-Tiles,
and gears. Clixo brings something new to the mix.
The flexible design lets kids build in 2D and 3D, creating shapes that move
and bend in ways traditional blocks cannot.
The magnetic connection means the pieces easily snap together and even
attach to any metallic surface. Mykids quickly discovered the fridge is now
part of the play zone.
Clixo pieces are lightweight, compact, and easy to clean up, making them
perfect for travel, quiet time, or keeping in a STEM bin.
Clixo feels alive in your hands. The click and bend of each piece is satisfying. It is creative, calming,
and collaborative all at once.

Once I saw how much my kids loved building freely, I turned their play into learning challenges.
Here are a few favorites that have been a hit in our house:

Watching my kids collaborate,problem-solve, and giggle reminded me why I love open-ended learning. They weren’t following directions. They were discovering, experimenting, andlearning naturally.
Clixo does not replace our favorite toys. It enhances them.

It is one of those rare educational toys that grows with kids and inspires everyone, from toddlers to teens, and apparently husbands too.
Whether you are a classroom teacher, a homeschool parent, or someone who wants to encourage more hands-on STEAM learning, Clixo fits right in. It is durable, colorful, and designed to spark curiosity.
It supports problem-solving play, creative collaboration, and critical thinking without kids realizing they are learning.
It works in many ways:
Clixo has earned a permanent spot in our homeschool cart and on my list of must-have tools for teachers. It is engaging, educational, and endlessly creative. My kids are learning to design, test, and problem-solve while thinking they are just playing.
That is what makes Clixo so brilliant.
